Happy Friday! Last weekend, I finally had a chance to check out Frannys, a Brooklyn restaurant Id been hearing about forever. (Flowering greens pizza with garlic, chilies and Pecorino Romano YUM!) And while the food certainly was delicious, Ill admit that I found myself more captivated by the nail polish color of my waitress than anything else. It was that perfect 80s peachy pink that just seemed like the definition of summer. So I when I spotted that same color family in the work of French designer Caroline Gomez, I just couldnt get it out of my head. Caroline creates pieces in wood as well as print designs and her work has a light, whimsical quality. This new collection is called TRÄ, which means wood in Swedish and was inspired by a recent trip to Sweden and her focus is on playful silhouettes and the contrast between the natural wood and bright pops of color. Isnt cloud platter is just so sweet? And the colors? Well, I think I just might need to make an appointment at the nail salon. -Amy A
