Images captured by five Axis IP cameras recently led to the arrest of thieves that broke into one of Scotland’s leading refrigeration and catering equipment suppliers. The Glasgow-based HiTec Refrigeration was first notified of the break-in by their alarm system. However, when security personnel arrived the thieves were long gone.

Lucky for the company, the thieves’ crime spree was captured on camera despite their efforts to disable the Axis cameras. Security personnel were able to provide the police with high-quality footage the clearly revealed the identity of the thieves. Based on the pictures, the police were able to make arrests.

Impressed by the role the Axis security cameras played in helping catch the perpetrators of the break-in, HiTec has already invested in more network cameras to protect the company premises.
