OK folks, and by ”folks” we mean boys. Let’s be honest: how many of you really, truly need a big, stinky, gas-guzzling lawn mower, let alone one of those ride-on numbers? I first wrote about Denver puzzlemaker Kagen Schaefers gorgeous purpleheart butcherblock benchtop two years ago, and now Kagens knocked me out again with this nigh-unbelievable desk. It features eight working wooden organ pipes that play notes when when you push in the various drawers, and a pneumatic computer that can recognize a particular melody and open a secret compartment in response. On top of that, the pneumatic lock can be reprogrammed to recognize other melodies, and the whole enchilada is made entirely of wood.
